MDF-Compatible Powder Coating Production Line with Automated and Manual Spraying
Flexible Coating Solution for MDF Panels and Metal Components
This customized powder coating production line is designed for medium-density fiberboard (MDF), engineered wood panels, and metal sheet components. By combining automatic powder spraying with additional manual touch-up operations, the system achieves efficient production while maintaining excellent coating coverage on different product geometries.
The production line adopts a Power & Free overhead conveyor system, providing flexible workpiece transportation and optimized production flow. Loading and unloading operations are performed manually, allowing operators to handle various product sizes and configurations with greater flexibility.

Key Features
Hybrid Automatic & Manual Coating System
The automatic spraying system provides consistent powder distribution and efficient coating application, while manual touch-up allows operators to improve coverage on edges, corners, and complex areas.
Power & Free Overhead Conveyor
The overhead conveyor system enables flexible carrier movement and accumulation, improving production organization and allowing smooth transportation between processing stages.
Suitable for Multiple Substrates
The line is specially adapted for:
MDF boards
Engineered wood panels
Metal panels
Composite components requiring powder coating protection
Flexible Production Configuration
The system can be customized according to:
Product dimensions and weight
Required production capacity
Coating material characteristics
Factory layout conditions
Required automation level
Powder Coating Process
1. Surface Preparation
Before coating, the workpieces undergo surface preparation to remove dust, oil, and other contaminants. Proper cleaning ensures improved powder adhesion and coating stability.
2. Surface Conditioning / Pretreatment
Depending on the substrate material, suitable surface treatment methods are applied to enhance coating performance. For metal components, processes such as chemical cleaning, phosphating, or conversion coating can improve corrosion resistance and adhesion.
3. Preheating & Drying
The workpieces are heated before powder application to remove moisture and improve powder adhesion, especially for MDF and other moisture-sensitive substrates.
4. Powder Coating Application
The powder coating material is electrostatically charged and applied through spray guns. The charged powder particles are attracted to the grounded workpieces, creating a uniform coating layer. Automatic spraying ensures efficiency, while manual touch-up improves coverage in difficult areas.
5. Powder Curing
After spraying, the coated parts enter the curing process. Controlled heating allows the powder particles to melt, flow, and form a continuous protective coating film with good adhesion and durability.
6. Cooling
Following curing, the coated components are naturally cooled to stabilize the coating layer and maintain the required surface appearance and performance.
7. Quality Inspection
The finished products are inspected for:
Coating thickness
Surface appearance
Adhesion performance
Overall coating quality
to ensure the final products meet customer requirements.
