Product Description

Automatic Powder Coating Production Line for Carbon Steel Cabinet Components

High-Efficiency Coating Solution for Sheet Metal Cabinet Manufacturing

This automatic powder coating production line is developed for carbon steel cabinet components, including electrical cabinets, control cabinet bodies, door panels, and other fabricated sheet metal structures. The system integrates surface preparation, automated material handling, electrostatic powder application, curing, and auxiliary assembly processes to achieve stable coating performance and efficient production.

The spray booth is constructed from durable PVC material, offering excellent chemical resistance and long-term operational reliability. The coating system combines automatic electrostatic spraying with manual touch-up operations, ensuring complete powder coverage on complex areas such as corners, edges, welded sections, and recessed structures.

Integrated Production Line Configuration

The production system includes multiple functional sections to optimize the complete manufacturing process:

  • Robotic weld seam grinding system

  • Manual surface finishing stations

  • Chemical pretreatment process

  • Drying system

  • Manual putty application and sanding

  • Automatic powder spraying system

  • Manual coating touch-up stations

  • Powder curing oven

  • Cooling section

  • Assembly assistance system

For efficient material flow, the line adopts a dual conveying configuration:

  • Skid-type ground conveyor for pretreatment and heavy component transportation

  • Overhead conveyor system for powder coating, curing, and continuous production movement

This design improves process stability while allowing flexible handling of different cabinet structures.

Main Features

Hybrid Automatic and Manual Powder Application

The automatic spray system ensures stable powder distribution and consistent coating thickness, while manual touch-up operations provide additional coverage for complex geometries and areas requiring detailed finishing.

Efficient Surface Preparation System

Robotic grinding and manual finishing processes effectively remove welding marks, surface defects, and contaminants, improving coating adhesion and final appearance quality.

Flexible Conveyor Arrangement

The combination of ground conveyor and overhead conveyor systems provides optimized transportation for different production stages, supporting both heavy cabinet structures and continuous coating operations.

Reliable Curing Performance

The curing oven maintains approximately 200°C for 18 minutes, allowing the powder coating to fully melt, flow, and cross-link into a durable protective film with excellent mechanical performance.

Adaptable Production Capability

The system can be customized according to:

  • Cabinet dimensions and weight

  • Production capacity requirements

  • Factory layout limitations

  • Required automation level

  • Surface finishing standards

Powder Coating Process

1. Surface Preparation

Before coating, cabinet components undergo grinding, cleaning, and dust removal to eliminate welding residues, oil, and surface contaminants. This creates a suitable foundation for strong powder adhesion.

2. Pretreatment

Chemical pretreatment is applied to improve corrosion resistance and enhance bonding between the carbon steel substrate and powder coating layer.

3. Drying

After pretreatment, workpieces are dried to remove residual moisture and ensure optimal conditions for electrostatic powder application.

4. Electrostatic Powder Coating

Charged powder particles are sprayed onto grounded workpieces using automatic spray guns. Manual coating is performed where necessary to achieve complete coverage on difficult areas.

5. Powder Curing

The coated components enter the curing oven, where heat causes the powder particles to melt and chemically cross-link, forming a continuous, durable, and corrosion-resistant coating film.

6. Cooling

After curing, controlled cooling stabilizes the coating surface and prepares components for assembly or further handling.

7. Quality Inspection

Finished products are inspected for:

  • Coating thickness

  • Surface appearance

  • Adhesion performance

  • Overall coating consistency

ensuring the final products meet required quality standards.
