Efficient Coating Solution for Sheet Metal Enclosures
This powder coating production line is specifically designed for coating sheet metal components used in electrical control cabinet chassis and enclosures. Suitable for parts of various sizes, shapes, and configurations, the system delivers consistent coating quality, high production efficiency, and reliable operation for modern sheet metal fabrication.
The spray booth is manufactured from high-quality PP (polypropylene), providing excellent chemical resistance, corrosion protection, and long service life. The coating process combines automatic electrostatic powder spraying with manual touch-up spraying, ensuring complete coverage of flat surfaces, corners, edges, and complex profiles.
Workpieces are transported by a monorail overhead conveyor system, enabling stable conveying, efficient space utilization, and continuous production throughout the coating process.
Key Features
Designed for electrical control cabinet chassis and sheet metal enclosures
Suitable for workpieces with different sizes and geometries
PP powder spray booth with excellent corrosion resistance
Hybrid spraying system combining automatic and manual application
Monorail overhead conveyor for smooth and reliable transportation
High coating efficiency with stable production performance
Customizable process layout and production capacity
Production Line Workflow
Manual Loading
Workpieces are suspended on carriers, and the elevator assists operators with ergonomic loading before entering the production line.
Spray Pretreatment
The conveyor indexes workpieces through each pretreatment station, where they stop briefly for chemical spraying and rinsing. This staged process thoroughly removes oil, dust, and other contaminants while preparing the surface for superior coating adhesion.
Drying
Following pretreatment, the workpieces enter the drying section to remove residual moisture completely, creating the ideal surface condition for powder application.
Automatic Powder Spraying
The workpieces travel continuously through the automatic powder booth at a conveyor speed of approximately 1.0–1.5 m/min. Automatic electrostatic spray guns apply a uniform powder coating, while manual operators can perform supplementary spraying when necessary to ensure complete coverage.
Powder Curing
After spraying, the coated parts enter the curing oven where controlled heating melts and chemically cross-links the powder into a durable, uniform coating film with excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance.
Cooling
The coated components are naturally cooled to stabilize the coating layer before downstream handling.
Unloading & Transfer
After cooling, the elevator assists operators with unloading, and the finished products are transferred to the assembly, inspection, or packaging area.
Powder Coating Process
1. Surface Preparation: Sheet metal components are cleaned to remove grease, dust, welding residues, and other contaminants, providing a clean surface for optimal coating performance.
2. Chemical Pretreatment: The pretreatment system improves corrosion resistance and coating adhesion through processes such as:
Degreasing
Water rinsing
Phosphating
Chromate or chrome-free conversion coating
Final rinsing
The exact process can be customized according to substrate material and coating requirements.
3. Drying: The workpieces pass through a drying oven to eliminate residual moisture before entering the powder coating booth.
4. Electrostatic Powder Application: Electrostatically charged powder is sprayed onto grounded workpieces using automatic spray guns. Manual touch-up spraying ensures consistent coating thickness on corners, edges, and recessed areas.
5. Powder Curing: Inside the curing oven, the powder coating melts, flows, and cross-links into a smooth, durable protective film that offers excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
6. Cooling: Controlled cooling stabilizes the coating and preserves its appearance and performance.
7. Quality Inspection: Every finished component undergoes comprehensive inspection, including:
Coating thickness measurement
Surface appearance inspection
Adhesion testing
Overall coating quality verification
Only qualified products proceed to final assembly or shipment.
