MDF Modified Powder Coating Production Line
For Wooden Panels and Metal Boards – Customizable Solution
This advanced MDF-modified powder coating production line is specifically engineered for coating medium-density fiberboard (MDF) as well as metal panels. The system integrates automated electrostatic spraying technology with supplementary manual finishing to ensure uniform coverage, fine edge protection, and high-end surface quality.
Designed for low-temperature curing powder systems, the line is particularly suitable for heat-sensitive substrates such as MDF, while remaining fully compatible with metal board applications.
A Power & Free overhead conveyor system ensures stable transport, flexible routing, and optimized production flow. Despite its high level of automation, the system retains manual loading and unloading operations to maintain flexibility for customized products and variable production batches.
Production Workflow
1. Manual Loading
Operators load workpieces onto the overhead conveyor system, ensuring proper positioning and secure handling.
2. Preheating Stage (60–80°C, approx. 3 minutes)
Workpieces pass through a controlled preheating zone to:
Remove residual surface moisture
Improve electrostatic powder attraction
Stabilize substrate temperature
Enhance coating leveling performance
This step is especially critical for MDF substrates to ensure optimal powder adhesion.
3. Automatic Powder Spraying + Manual Touch-Up
The coating stage combines:
Automated electrostatic spray guns for consistent film thickness and high transfer efficiency
Manual supplementary spraying for edges, corners, and complex geometries
This hybrid approach ensures full coverage and premium surface appearance.
4. Low-Temperature Powder Curing (135–140°C, 10 minutes)
The coated workpieces enter a curing oven designed specifically for MDF-modified powder.
The controlled low-temperature curing process:
Melts and levels the powder
Promotes chemical cross-linking
Prevents substrate deformation
Produces a durable, smooth, and scratch-resistant finish
5. Natural Cooling
After curing, the parts cool naturally under controlled conditions, allowing the coating film to fully stabilize and harden.
6. Manual Unloading
Finished products are manually removed from the conveyor for quality inspection, packaging, or downstream processing.
